Designer Invoice Template for Creative Projects

Design invoices work best when they separate the creative deliverable from revision rounds, production work, and reimbursable costs. That keeps the approval conversation focused on the agreed scope.

Describe the deliverable

Use client-friendly descriptions such as brand identity package, landing page design, illustration set, or design system audit.

List revision rounds

If revisions are billed separately, name the round or revision block. This makes scope changes visible without turning the invoice into a project diary.

Separate production costs

Fonts, stock assets, printing, rush fees, and other pass-through costs should have their own line items when applicable.

Mention handoff or usage terms

If the agreement includes a final handoff, usage rights, or delivery milestone, reference it in the notes so the invoice aligns with the contract.
